I talked a lot about passion in the last blog post and today I want to add towards it!

Theatre is about finding your people and connecting with them through the love of art and growing as an individual, as you help and support each other through the best of times and through the trickiest of times. Last week I had the tremendous joy of teaching a few people some new producing tricks through 53two’s Project BreakThrough initiative.

53two invited aspiring creatives from across Greater Manchester to take part in this new project. It was a week-long, hands-on free programme designed to provide practical experience, mentorship, and a platform for those who are ready to take their first steps into a career in the arts. It also focused particularly on those from underserved or arts-deprived areas.

It was a great privilege to give insight to the industry towards these brilliant up-and-coming creatives. One of the main reasons a lot of us do this is because of the passion we have towards this industry. Whether that be through acting, writing, or whatever else! Find that spark in your life and you’re golden!

Peripeteia is turning 5 this year. It’s a small number for some but I’m honestly gobsmacked that we’ve made it this far and that we all still have the drive and passion to keep going.

NEWS FLASH! We’re actually now got our own (small) rehearsal studio in the heart of Salford thanks to the lovely people at GRIT Studios. Another amazing company who are also passionate about supporting and making Manchester’s art scene thrive. It’s small but mighty (some would say just like us!) It means that we can keep our passion going a little bit longer.

What we are aiming to do to give a little bit more support to the acting community and celebrate this achievement is to start free one-on-one acting coaching throughout the month of August. It’ll be a way of us saying thank you to all the people who have supported us during these 5 years. We’ll post on social media when this is open to bookings. But I would suggest you get those monologues learnt! And don’t worry writers and directors we’re not forgotten about you! There’s more to come! We’ve got a birthday bash in October as well with a huge BIG announcement that I can’t wait to reveal!

I’ve sort of gone around the houses with this blog post! I might had it over to a different company member for the next one. But it's all about passion. As the great Beverley Knight said keep that fire burning.
