The Boiler Room
Welcome to THE BOILER ROOM – our Community Outreach Programme.
2023 saw a process of development and growth for us at Peripeteia Theatre Company. We now felt in a place to support artists with their own creative practice and development.
The Boiler Room servers as our community outreach programme and its inspired name comes from The Boilerhouse Theatre which situated in the Egham Campus Royal Holloway, University of London. To pay homage to our training and the seedling of our company.
The programme’s initiative is both an online and in person format for script readings, workshops, masterclasses, mentorship, discussions and a safe space for theatre artists to share their work. We hope it is a place where artists feel comfortable to take risks and invent something new with the support of the members of Peripeteia Theatre Company.
There is also the opportunity for scripts to developed into future Peripeteia productions.
Coming Up This Month...
The Boiler Room - Call-Out 2024
IMPORTANT UPDATE
Thank you to all those writers from across the globe that have submitted a script for this year’s ‘The Boiler Room Script Development Programme.’ We are delighted to say we have received 162 scripts! This is far beyond our expectations but we are excited to read them all. And that is a promise from us that we will read each and every one of them.
As you can imagine, as a small but dedicated team, this will take a few months to read them all and get back to every writer. You will hear back from us by the end of the year.
The Boiler Room will continue to run throughout this year with already planned script readthroughs, workshops and events – if you see this don’t think we’ve forgotten about you or your script, we most definitely have not! Just that the gears of the Boiler Room turn throughout the year.
Finally we also have our last, and overall 20th production, happening in December of this year. The Human Voice will be at The King’s Arms, Salford from the 11th until the 13th. This is a production that has gone through the development of The Boiler Room and is now ready to be staged. This one-person show will have a different actor each night. It’ll be great to see you there if you can make it!

Mixer Mania - A Creative Networking Event @53two
Peripeteia Theatre Company and Päi Productions is teaming up with 53two and hosting a networking event for all those who work in the creative industry! We'll be taking over the bar area and networking the night away! Oh, and there might be a little Christmas present from us to you – you’ll only find out what it is if you book your free space now!
A night for you to plug work and meet fellow actors, writers, directors & producers! This is an opportunity for you to connect, grow and get the ball rolling with projects you've got in mind for 2025!
