WMN

Run Date: 25/08/21 - 27/08/21

Venue: Online.

Description: WMN was our second free immersive audio experience. This project explored what it means to be a woman in the modern world. Split over three nights, each night focused on a specific element such as body image, emotions and motherhood.

WMN was a vivid and brutal portrayal of the complexities and vulnerabilities that affect most women. Why is so much worth placed on our bodies? Why is a woman not allowed to express herself without being labelled? Why must we be pressured into becoming a mother? Question such as these influenced our collaboration on this experimental piece of online theatre. We aimed for this piece to be nod to the women that raised us, the women that hold us up when the world wants to tear us down and to the women we want to be.

Written in collaboration by Anna Pellegrini, Bernadett Szabo and Hannah MacDonald.

Performed by (in appearance order): Briony Davies, Pannya Rajput, Anna Pellegrini, Javea Young, Alex Douglas, Sophie Krywald, Juliet Daalder and Saskia Pay.

Composed by Áron Gyenge. Directed by Adam Cachia.
