Welcome to an unexpected exploration of love, 'lovemaking to an inappropriate soundtrack', by Jenny Bushell, is a theatre production that subtly weaves the humour, emotions, and realities of young love into the audiences' hearts. This one-act vignette style production dips into the kaleidoscope of affection, seamlessly blending the sweet, the bitter, and the utterly ridiculous all together.
A smorgasbord of love, dating, sex, friendship, queerness and all that other good stuff.
Two girls discuss the mega period. A £1.99 jacket potato. Tram stop goodbyes. A friendship abruptly stilted. Pink vomit. The cow that got the cream.
‘lovemaking to an inappropriate soundtrack’ looks at momentary glimpses within the lives of people who love each other. Told through ten vignettes, put yourself into the shoes of our different pairs and enjoy big laughs and the occasional tear, jump into the sparks of joy found in the mundanity and wackiness of being young, silly and bursting at the seams.
This isn’t your typical boy meets girl narrative; it's a deeper, more nuanced portrayal of love with all its complexities and contradictions.
